Fearfully and Wonderfully: Gabriel is Still Silly and Corban is 6 Months

The post title about sums it up. I am just going to do a paragraph update about each of them and put in some pictures. . .

The random update on Gabriel - he is a hyper, silly, goofy boy. He has so much energy and so much to say (nothing new here). He likes to throw tantrums. He is registered for preschool in the fall. He is still working on potty training, but we've made more progress than the first time we tried. He told me that he wants to learn to read, so yesterday we started learning some words since he already knows letters and sounds. His favorite phrases this week are, "that's not cool!" and "but that's not my favorite thing!" He doesn't like to share his toys with us. He wants us to play "with him" but with different toys. We're working on that. He likes to make "candy soup" with random candy in the pantry. He has figured out how to open his "child proof" vitamin container. The other day he tried to ride on Corban because he said that "Corban is my rocket!" He suddenly thinks that canned mango is awesome. He loves making Corban laugh and holding him. He gets two magazines in the mail and he really likes to sit and read them. He's starting to not always take an afternoon nap, but he mostly just reads in his bed during that time. He knows how to pull open his curtain and hook it on his bed so that he can see when we turn the lights off. Even when he's having a tantrum, the most calming thing for him is being in his room alone and reading books. His current favorite movie is still "Inside Out" and he likes to say "that makes me so mad!" as he pretends to be Anger. He was wearing 2T clothes until a few months ago, but suddenly even some 3T clothes are getting too small. He had so much fun playing in the snow. He often asks if we can drink hot chocolate and read books. He still doesn't like to color or draw much, but he does like window markers and playing with play doh. He still goes to Mother's Morning Out on Thursdays and has a friend there that he gets excited to see. He goes to Rompy's Adventure on Monday mornings and gets to play with another friend there. He enjoys classical music.

And now Corban. At his 6 month appointment yesterday he weighed 16 lb 13 oz (36%), was 27.75 inches (88%), and his head circumference was 17.5 inches (69%). He remains a happy, content kid most of the time. He wakes up around 7, naps from 9-10:30, naps again from about 1:30-3:30, and goes to bed for the night around 6:30. He goes to sleep really easily most times. He likes it when people sing to him. He laughs when you blow on his tummy or his neck. When you wash his armpits in the bathtub he starts giggling. After a bath he likes to be wrapped up in a big towel. He can roll from front to back and from back to front. He can sit up with just a little bit of help. He likes it when he's being helped to stand up and jumping in his jumper. He loves to eat solid foods. As of now we've only done rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, and squash but we're going to start doing more. He tried a sippy cup for the first time yesterday and he was fascinated. He's always watching when we eat and wanting some. He drools a lot and chews on everything. He likes to chew on his fingers and on our fingers most of all. He started going to the nursery at church. Rattles, teething toys, plastic rings, and his stuffed lion with plastic hands are his favorite toys.
