7 Months of Brother Fun

Another month has flown by.  Corban is now 7 months old.  His favorite thing to do is roll around the room.  He can go pretty fast when he sees something that he wants.  He spent about a week not sleeping well since he would roll over onto his stomach at night and get mad, but now that he has mastered it he seems to like sleeping on his stomach best.  He still doesn't like sitting up but he's warming up to it (I don't understand exactly, but since birth he either likes to be flat or standing.  He doesn't want to be bent in half).  He gets his legs moving like he wants to crawl but none of that as of yet. 

He loves to EAT.  I am feeding him 4 times plus he's doing 3 meals a day.  Current favorite foods so far seem to be oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, pears, zucchini, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash.  After many attempts he will not eat avocados.  The only time he didn't spit them out was when Gabriel fed him some.  Maybe it's a texture thing.

Not sure if this current trend will continue, but Gabriel decided that he wanted to learn to read.  He's memorized some sight words and has started "reading" books to us (something that he rarely did before).  He enjoys trying to sound out words too.  He is also starting violin lessons tomorrow.  We'll see how it goes.  If he doesn't want to do it that's totally fine, but he seems really excited about it now.  

He went to Target with me the other day and found a Mater toy that he really wanted.  He said that "not getting it made him so sad" so we've made him a chart to earn the money for half of it.  We maybe should have started this earlier, but he's learning about doing chores.  He helped fold laundry, take out the trash, and put away groceries.  He wasn't actually any help but of course you have to start somewhere. 

And this is a really random thing to make a note of, but a few weeks ago Gabriel actually came up to me, got my attention, and then told me that he loved me.  I guess that really stood out to me because he's never done that unprompted and it was really sweet.
