Now that the holidays have past I've had a little time to sort pictures so hopefully I can make a few posts and catch up things from the fall. Since the computer downloads them in order of when they were taken scrolling down will pretty much cover what we did this fall.
Gabriel watching Corban put on a "swing show" in the backyard. The made up a bunch of new "swings" this fall and enjoyed perfecting and performing them:
Corban started as a Wolf in Cub Scouts this year. Gabriel wanted to play baseball and Corban hadn't wanted to do a sport this fall. A friend was talking about Scouts and he decided that was something he'd like to try. Some weeks he loves going and some weeks he's hesitant (mostly because when he has Scouts he usually misses being at our home fellowship group from church and that is a night that he gets to watch movies and play video games with Gabriel). Overall he has been excited to go and he enjoyed things that writing to a town council member with questions and having her come to a meeting and answer them, selling popcorn before a VT football game, being in the holiday parade, and going to the fire station. Below is when Pack #44 went to the horticulture garden and got a tour. They were then giving food to feed to the koi fish.
Corban's group had a campout on a Saturday night and we were not able to go. Instead they set up a tent in the house and the boys slept in the guest room together (after a couple tries calming down and actually going to sleep).
The school has started having Bingo night every other month to raise money. It's a fun way to hang out with people and have fun on a Friday night
Fall of course brings pumpkin patches and other fun outside things. Below are some pictures of when a bunch of Gabriel's classmates met at a fall festival:
Corban has really enjoyed STEM this year. Mrs. Gordon sent me this picture.
Field Day at school is always very fun. Below is Gabriel with all of his guy classmates except one. They are a very diverse group with different personalities and interests but they all like being together.

Gabriel's class took two field trips this fall, one to the Safari Park and another to Wolf Creek Indian Village:
Corban's class went to a pumpkin patch (Taylor went along too!). I remember this one from when Gabriel went because they had sheep there and the man who owns the farm was talking about how the sheep know and love his voice.
One thing that I have missed at DCA the past two years is "Grandparent/Special Person Day." Kids can invite someone to come to school and see them do a presentation and then show off their classrooms. Corban really wanted to invite their favorite babysitter, Ella. She ended up being really sick the day before and I told the boys she wasn't coming, but what a great surprise when they walked into the gym and she was there (Taylor and I went too because we weren't sure if she would feel well enough to come)! Gabriel's class each talked about what they love about DCA. Corban's class said why they loved their special person that was there and he said "I love Ella because she swings me" (on the rope swing in the backyard). Afterwards we all went to lunch together.
Went for wellness visits and decided on the spot to get flu shots done. They both weren't excited about the last minute idea but they did a great job
Another thing that we have missed the past couple years was when the VT school of entomology did their annual "BugFest." It was great to have it back in person this year and get to see and learn about all kinds of critters
The same day as Bugfest we went to celebrate Gabriel's friend Aiden's birthday at another pumpkin patch. This is our favorite one (Thornspring). So many fun activities all included in paying to get in.
While we were there we got some pictures taken by the same young lady who took our picture the year Corban was born. She was at the festival doing fall minis.

We went to see an acrobatics show at the Moss Arts Center. It was general admission so getting to sit in some box seats was fun. At one point there was a giant balloon they were floating around the room and a friend happened to be in the lower section and saw us up there and took our picture:
Gabriel was excited to play baseball again this year. It took a bit for the team to start interacting and encouraging each other, but he had a great and encouraging coach and Taylor enjoyed helping coach whenever he could too. Both boys want to play baseball this spring.

Gabriel's class did a presentation at chapel and they got a little silly afterwards:
Corban is (hopefully) done with the dental work. We thought we were done a couple months ago, but turns out there was one more little thing to fix. The dentist was wonderful and said that most kids get more anxious each time they come but that Corban actually did better every time that he was there. I posted this on Facebook back in the summer but I don't think I ever put this quote on here:
Corban had some dental work done a couple days ago. Afterwards I took him to get ice cream and while eating it and listening to the music there I instinctively started singing along. Then we had this conversation:
Fictional character day at school. Corban wanted to be "Bad Kitty" (from the book series) and Gabriel was "Pete the Sock Man" from the Wingfeather Saga
I found a Ninjago and Mario costume at Once Upon a Child many weeks before Halloween. I brought them home and told the boys if they didn't like them I could return them but they both got excited about them. When Halloween rolled around though Corban didn't really want to wear a costume at all, but wore either this one without the mask or his Bad Kitty outfit
Gabriel and Corban wanted us to participate in Trunk or Treat at school and they wanted a Narnia theme, so we made the trunk into a wardrobe. When Gabriel walked up and saw us dressed like the professor and the queen he said "Mom, you are embarrassing!" My first thought was to be offended but then I realized that was the first time I've been embarrassing enough in front of his friends for him to say so. I was a little proud and amused by that.
Gabriel had a costume violin recital at the end of October:

Gabriel has started doing baby nursery with me one Sunday a month during Sunday school. He really looks forward to it and is so engaging with the kids.
Another exciting thing this year was the return of Service Day where they actually went out from the school and interacted with the community. Gabriel's class went to a nursing home and played games. Corban's class stayed at school and did some crafts that were sent various places to encourage people.
We decided to go to Georgia for Thanksgiving this year instead of Christmas (I was supposed to work on Christmas). We saw all of the cousins, aunts, and uncles which was so fun.
We stayed at Grandma Chery's house for a couple nights and they slept in the closet under the stairs (Harry Potter style)

Corban found this recipe for chicken pot pie cups and did a great job making them! He barely had any help
I will do another post just for Gabriel's birthday, but this about sums up the fall :)
